New Addition to the Odoo Ecosystem: Knowledge App
With the Knowledge app, Odoo will concentrate more on organizing information inspired by Wiki, Notion, and the internal knowledge base of Odoo. This app allows one to access the templates and procedures while performing the workflows.
Website Builder in Odoo 16 Gets More Efficient
Odoo Version 16 has merged the website’s back-end and front-end with more customizing options and control over building blocks, page elements, etc. It will enhance the user experience of building a website and make it easier for users to develop and manage their websites on Odoo.
E-wallet, Coupons, and promotions in Odoo POS, eCommerce, and Sales
Coupons and promotions will be unified, and users can access them from POS, eCommerce, and sales orders.
In Odoo’s previous versions, coupons and promotions were treated as different functional features, which conflicted with its use in the coupon management process.
Chatbot Enhancements
To serve customers better, Chatbot in Odoo 16 will have multiple questions and decision tree.

- Credit limit: warning on Quotations/Sales Orders and Invoices
- E-invoicing
- Reconciliation Widget has a more user-friendly approach

Subscription will now be merged with the SO for better user experience and easy management.
Marketing Improvements
The email marketing module is now more improved with new features like:
- Starting the mail where you have left drafting
- Change the global attributes of emails all at once
- Saving filters to reload later
- Import contacts in the database by coping or pasting the email address
- New templates for email
- Social marketing will let users re-tweet and quote from the dashboard itself.
Expected Inventory Enhancements in Odoo 16
The inventory module will now be equipped with more tools and features that will enhance the module’s efficiency and management.
There will be a force back-order feature that will give the option to choose whether to ask for backorder in operation type, reducing confusion in the order management process.
Local Shipping Methods and Zip Code Support
- Enhanced postcode filter on the shipping method.
- Add text with dedicated shipping/pickup instructions in the order confirmation emails.
Automated Batches
Batches will be created on the operation type setting. Group Automatically transfers contact, carrier, destination country, or source/destination location. One can limit the size of the batch per move line, transfer, or weight.
Replenishment visibility days will eliminate the issue we used to have for visibility while planning the replenishment. The “Visibility Days” field will be added, functioning as a “days to purchase” setting but at replenishment line level.
You can also expect enchantments in the Package Scanning, Pick and count and force scan.
Purchase App Improvements
Now one can call for tender on the fly and create alternatives to the original RFQ.
Odoo 16 MRP Features
- We can now split and merge manufacturing orders.
- The allocation report is now in manufacturing; if the link is created in the sales order, customers can see the status of their manufacturing order in the customer portal at every stage.
- Subcontracting will allow the subcontractor to register production.
- The manufacturing worksheet option will be in the MRP module (Like field service) to help users complete the operations, steps, and quality checks.
- Manufacturing planning and scheduling will help you to define a sequence for your operations- which manufacturing order needs to be fulfilled in sequence and which ones should run parallelly.
Appointment App
With new backend, frontend, and better onboarding features, the Odoo Version 16 Appointment app will offer more visibility.

- New improvements in Sign (one can refuse to sign a contract)
